Davi Ezequiel François studied electrical engineering in Brazil and conducted his PhD in Germany at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). His doctoral research sought to analyze and identify possible socio-political conditions in the long term so that modern and renewable energies can contribute to reducing poverty in the rural areas of the Brazilian state of Ceará. He has also experience in the coordination and implementation of other international projects in the field of the energy-poverty nexus and energy transition in Germany and Europe.
His main research interests are related to socio-technical energy transitions, in particular in rural and poor areas of developing countries. Another great interest is in carrying out systematic analysis together with poor people, with limited education. That way, CIB can play an important role in the systematic analysis of energy transitions in rural areas.
